Cornelis Lelys dream
Medium:
High Definition multimediatheater with special effects
Client:
New Land Inheritance centre (Nieuw Land Erfgoedcentrum), Lelystad
Communication goal:
The substance of living safely on new land beneath sea-level,
as a result of the vision and the effort of many people, but
especially of Cornelis Lely: to provide this insight... to let
it feel... that's the goal.
Result:
It's the year 1916. During a ten minutes taking interview Cornelis
Lely explains his vision on building the 'Afsluitdijk' and the
reclamation of the 'Zuiderzee' on a profound but also down-to-earth
way. Forty visitors see, hear, feel and experience the daring
exploit that has taken place, thanks to the persistency of,
among others, Cornelis Lely. The presentation has been realised
by combining cinematic pictures (recorded on high definition
video), on high resolution scanned historical film scenes, computer
animation and several special effects in the theatre into an
epic on one of the most important projects realized in the recent
Dutch history.
